The chiefs of general staff of the Armed Forces of Russia and Turkey Valery Gerasimov and Yashar Guler discussed by telephone the situation in Syria and Libya. This was reported on July 8 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The parties discussed the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic and the current situation in Libya, as well as issues of cooperation between the military departments of the two countries, the report said. According to the news agency, earlier Russian representatives in the commission on the facts of violations of the cessation of hostilities in Syria on the day of July 6 noted eight violations of the ceasefire in the Arab Republic.
