French residents put forward ideas to improve the appearance of the Champs Elysees


In a large survey, more than 96,000 people formulated eight priority ideas to improve the Champs Elysees in Paris, reports Le Figaro. More greenery, the creation of a real pedestrian embankment, priority to local shops instead of large chains are some of the popular proposals for revaluing the Champs Elysees in Paris. A total of 96,702 French residents participated in this consultation, which was held from February 14 to June 4 at the initiative of the Champs Elysees Committee of the structure uniting all the main players on the avenue. Participants invited to answer the question What would you like to change to improve the Champs Elysees? More than 2,000 proposals were formulated, which helped raise eight priority ideas. Among the priority ideas, the survey participants first voted for the idea of ​ ​ landscaping the avenue with planting trees and shrubs. Then they advocated the creation of a real pedestrian embankment from the Tuileries to the Arc de Triomphe, increasing the number of public toilets, benches and places of rest. Finally, the survey participants advocate the safety and tranquility of the avenue, advocating efforts to combat pickpockets. According to the news agency, all metro stations in the French capital will reopen for passengers on Monday, June 22, 2020.
