40 kg of methamphetamine and heroin seized in south-west China


Five suspects were caught by authorities in Yunnan province in south-west China with 40 kg of drugs, Xinhua news agency reported on March 19. At the end of February, the authorities of the region received a tip that the attackers were planning to transport drugs in Lanzang County, Puer. A working group was sent there immediately. As early as March 3, the police detained a suspicious minibus in Lanzang County, where a suspect named Liao was located. Liao had 18 bags of drugs, including 39.19 kg of methamphetamine and 1.04 kg of heroin. Police grabbed three other suspects in Kunming, who were planning to get drugs the next day, and then grabbed another fifth suspect in Manlian County, Puer, as early as March 10, investigating. All five are now under criminal arrest. Investigation continues. It should be noted that Yunnan Province is the Chinese front line in the fight against drug trafficking, as it borders the golden triangle of drug trafficking, which includes Thailand, Laos and Myanmar.
